The project at Tring Avenue replaces a non-descript 1930s house sited on a long site in Ealing. The scheme proposes a contemporary reinterpretation of the double Bay Victorian town house.
The long site is exploited by a long Ground Floor which is broken up by internal courtyards and rooflights.
The two storeys of bedrooms are arranged around triple height atrium which is lit by a three storey louvred window. This element is also used to organise the façade, contrasting with the flanking brick elements with punctured holes for windows.
At night the lit atrium glows from behind the louvers and provides the house with a distinct identity and welcoming feel.
